Springfield Armory continues to listen to consumers with this latest addition to its Saint Victor line: the Saint Victor 5.56 Pistol!
If you’ve read many of my other articles, you’ve likely seen that I’m a fan of the Victor line. I have the 5.56 Magpul edition with a 16-inch barrel and the 9mm carbine with a 16-inch barrel.
I’ve found both to deliver a high level of quality and performance, especially considering the reasonable price tags behind them.
While I do enjoy 16-inch barrels on plenty of my rifles, I’ve been leaning more towards shorter barrels lately for their maneuverability and versatility to go from the range to the truck to home defense with ease.
So, once I got word that Springfield had this 11.5-inch Victor Pistol coming soon, to say I was excited would be an understatement.
I just got it in, so I haven’t been able to hit the range yet, but I figured I’d give a quick overview before I post a full hands-on review in a couple of months.
Despite its compact size, there are plenty of upgraded features to note.
At the heart of the pistol is a direct impingement gas system with an adjustable gas block and an HPT/MPI tested BCG, which should keep the 5.56 rounds going down range through the 11.5-inch CMV barrel reliably.
Springfield went with a B5 Systems Type 23 P-Grip and trigger guard, then finished the furniture with an SB Tactical SBA3 brace. Thankfully, there is also an ambidextrous 45-degree safety selector, which is one less thing I’ll have to change (I always prefer to have an ambi safety).
The pistol also comes with Springfield’s flip-up sights and, of course, a 30-round PMAG. An extra nice inclusion was the small handstop that came pre-installed. With the shorter barrel, I always appreciate a hand stop.

I’m still going back and forth on which optic I want to run, but I’m leaning towards either the Aimpoint Acro C-2 or the Holosun SCRS.
While they are pretty different, both are compact, durable, and have proven reliable through hard use.
I’ll also probably throw on an ambidextrous charging handle. I run a Radian Raptor nine out of ten times, so I assume one will also make its way to this pistol.
I can’t wait to get this Saint Victor 5.56 Pistol to the range and start putting it through its paces. I’m confident it will perform just as well as my other Saint Victor firearms have, but you always should test your gear before relying on it!
Stay tuned for a full review once I’ve had some time behind the trigger and put a few hundred rounds down range!
As always, stay safe, train hard, and have fun.
