Based on the 5.56 mm NATO chambered SU-16 rifle, the SU-22CA shares many parts with its predecessor, including the grip and front and rear sights.

This is not just a simple conversion kit, but a standalone firearm that operates by blowback action. It features a 4140 steel bolt that rides on steel guide rails inside the polymer receiver. The ejector is attached to one of the guide rails and the recoil spring is located above the barrel, ensuring a smooth and reliable operation.

The KELTEC KEL-TEC SU-22CA comes with a cross-bolt safety and magazine release that operate identically to the PLR-16 and SU-16. It is lightweight, weighing in at just 4.0 lbs unloaded, and has a length of 34" with a 16.1" barrel. It also features a 1:16" twist and a magazine capacity of 26 rounds or Atchison M-16.

This rifle is not just about performance, but also customization. It will accept many of the same accessories as the PLR-16 and SU-16, including slings, stocks, and compact forend. The rear sight is adjustable for windage and the front sight for elevation, allowing for precise shooting.
