Really Impressed with Value for the Money
I have been really impressed with this revolver. I bought it as more of a beater/ woods revolver. I have Colt's and S&W's that I inherited from when high end quality was synonymous with those names. Those revolvers will mostly see oily rags and admiration from me. Also have a few newer Ruger GP100's that have been quality shooters, very well built, more accurate than I can be with them etc. I only mention this to say I'm familiar with other revolvers of varying quality. My model 66 has been very impressive, the finish is nice and even all around. No tool marks, the cylinder locks up tight, no wiggle, and swings out smoothly. I've had no issue with ejection, no hangups, brass clear easily. Accurate, I've fired .38 Spl and .357 Mag at 8 out to 20 yards. Nice groups, definitely more than good enough for defensive use, especially against the 4 legged threats in the woods. The trigger is what really impresses. Single action light and very crisp, right on the wall, no mush, breaks very cleanly. Precision is possible with the trigger on mine and the right shooter. The DA pull is what really impressed me. Don't have a trigger gauge, but it's not overly heavy. And it is VERY smooth, smoother and lighter out of the box than any of my Ruger's DA pulls. Quickly firing off a 7 round cylinder full and staying on target is easily done with .38 Spl. I think with a little practice and a lot of $$$ you could easily master the 7 round dump with .357 Mag. It's an impressively smooth DA pull. The transfer bar safety does rattle. It's pretty audible too, but really only if you intentionally shake the gun. Didn't hear anything with it in a holster walking around my yard just to test it out. Not a big deal, but I know some will not be happy to hear rattling when they move/ shake/ wiggle their firearm. For what I paid, $419.99 on sale at ImpactGuns and free shipping...... thank you Impact, nobody can beat you.... this is a REALLY good value on a .357 Mag revolver. I'd read that Taurus' new president a couple of years ago set out to turn their reputation around and it seems he did. Starting with the implementation of the G series of pistols and moving forward it seems Taurus produces really good value for dollar firearms and the revolvers seem to be there too. I highly recommend the Model 66, and recommend buying from ImpactGuns as well.

Taurus 66
I purchased my Taurus 66ss6 7shot and really like it. This is my first gun ever. It shoots very well and with good accuracy. Very affordable, just wished it came polished is my only tiff. Great gun for the price for sure.
